History

The Unit of City Small Causes Court, Hyderabad was established in the year 1950 and comprises of 10 number of Courts, i.e., 2 District Courts, 1 Senior Civil Judge Court and 7 Junior Civil Judge Courts (05 in Hyderabad location and 02 in Secunderabad location). Sri Hon’ble Akthar Hussian Khan, was the first District and Sessions Judge. The following are the list of District and Sessions Judges who chaired as the Hon’ble Chief Judges in the Unit of City Small Causes Court.

JURISDICTION

The Court of the Chief Judge, City Small Causes Court, Hyderabad has got Appellate Jurisdiction Over the Courts of the Rent Controllers of Hyderabad and Secunderabad in Rent Appeals under Telangana (Lease, Rent & Eviction) Control Act,1960, Municipal Appeals against the order of the Municipal Corporation Act, and also Insolvency petition Appeals i.e., Appeal against the order of the Additional Judge, City Small Causes Court, Hyderabad under the Provincial Insolvency Act, and also deals with Transfer O.P’s.

The Court of the Additional Chief Judge, City Small Causes Court, Hyderabad has got Small Causes Jurisdiction from Rs. 4,001/- to Rs. 10,000/- and also Rent Appeals wich were made over by the Chief Judge, City Small Causes Court, Hyderabad. The Additional Chief Judge, City Small Causes Court, Hyderabad deals with Execution petitions.
